Some time later Paul said to Barnabas, “Let us go back and visit the believers in all the towns where we preached the word of the Lord and see how they are doing.” (Acts 15:36).
From May 21 to 28 I we went to Iquitos and Ayzana. I went with pastor Luis Salas, from the city of Chimbote. We taugth in Iquitos and Ayzana.
In Iquitos, we taught to people of Maranatha Baptist Church. The weather was very good We spent time with Pastor Douglas Ferreyra, who pastors that church. We are very happy with the way God is blessing and using Pastor Douglas in that church. (Photo: Pastor Douglas Ferreira in Maranata Baptist Church).
In Ayzana we taught people from churches of Lower Amazon. We rejoiced with the brothers who attended. They came from these towns: Oran, Orellana, Marupa, Caballocochío and Nuevo Triunfo. It was very edifying to see the fellowship and the desire to learn that these brothers have in Christ!
On this trip, we gave to pastors tracts for evangelism. These tracts were donated by friends from Betel Baptist Church of Trujillo, which is pastored by Pastor Enoc Principe.
In both, Iquitos and Ayzana, we share the topic: “Serving God and Others as Jesus did.” It was a great blessing to study this subject, which challenged us greatly to imitate our Teacher by doing His work on this earth. (Photo: brothers and sisters of Iquitos and Ayzana studying the word of God).
At the same time that we were in the Lower Amazon, pastors and some brothers from churches of Requena went to Huatapi, on the Ucayali River. They participated in a fellowship of churches. We help them with transportation. We want to take care of our brothers on the banks of Ucayali and I am very happy that
those brothers have taken courage and have gone to help pastors and churches of the villages on the banks of Ucayali River. (Photo: Brothers and sisters of Requena traveling to Huatapi).
We are in a new stage of our work in the jungle of Peru. We want to mobilize the churches to spread the gospel in more villages on the banks of Ucayali and Amazon rivers. Also, we want to encourage and build the churches that already exist in the villages on those banks. We believe that both, evangelization and care of churches that are on the banks of these rivers, are a great need and I am very happy that we are supplying this need.
Thank you very much for praying for us and for partnering with us in this service to God in that part of Peru. May God continue to prosper all of you!
