Pastor Enoch Principe and Hilda, his wife, traveled with my wife and me. It was very good to travel together. My wife and Hilda increased their fellowship and were able to serve together the sisters and the children who were present at the meetings. For Pastor Enoch and me, sharing this trip has also been very helpful.
Iquitos –Maranata Baptist Church.
Maranatha Baptist Church of Iquitos and Pastor Douglas Ferreyra are our main collaborators in that city. Pastor Enoch taught the foundations of the great commission to this congregation. The response of Maranatha people to the teachings they are taught is key to the work we are doing in the Lower Amazon. Hilda, wife of Pastor Enoch, worked with some women preparing illustrated songs for children. Our time in Iquitos was very profitable. It worked there during evenings on Wednesday and Thursday.
On Friday, the two couples, with Pastor Douglas and Brother Limber, both from the Maranata church in Iquitos, traveled to Oran, in the Lower Amazon. In Oran we met with the leaders of 6 churches. Pastor Enoch taught the fundamentals of the great commission to all of us. He emphasized the glory of God as the key basis of our mission to make disciples. The response of the brothers was very positive. This time, work was also done with women and children. The presence of our wives was vital for this work. The brothers of the churches are happy with our visits and have asked us to keep going. We were from Friday until Sunday with them.
Requena –Ucayali River
We returned to Iquitos on Monday. We rested there and the next day, Pastor Enoch and his wife returned to Trujillo; and my wife and I went to Requena, to speak with the board of ABCDE. In Requena we were from Tuesday until Thursday. I had a very good interview with the leaders of the three churches that collaborate with us. I met Pablo, who runs the Mount of Olives Church; with Medardo, who runs Faith church; and with Manuel, who runs the Bethesda church. With them we have talked about how we can better help the brothers and the churches on the banks of the Ucayali River.
From this my trip I have several conclusions that I will share with you in the following days. Thank you very much for helping with your prayers and support.
Prayer Request.
- At the end of April I will go to Requena with two teachers to teach pastors and churches on how to reach children. Please help us by praying for this visit.
- At the end of May, the brothers from three churches of Requena will go to Huatapi, at 6 hours, crossing the Ucayali. There they will meet with other congregations. The goal is to encourage and instruct the brothers of this area. I want to send a preacher there. I request your prayers for this event. Sadly, I will not be able to be there this time.
- By the end of May, we will be in Ayzana. There we will meet with 6 or 7 churches of the Lower Amazon for training and building. We will also be in Iquitos, with Maranatha church friends. I request your prayers for this training.
Finally, my wife and I are growing in our relationship with God and with each other. Noah our oldest son is studying in the Seminary. Andrés and Elena have already started their classes, both of them are in high school. Thank you for praying for us. Pray that we continue to grow in our faith and in our love for God.
With Love,
Segundo & Leneida, Noe, Andres & Elena
