April update and two new trips in May

In my last update I reported the work we did in Iquitos, Oran and Requena in the month of March. Also, I let you know what we would do in April and May.

In this regard, I share that I traveled to Requena from the 26th to the 30th of April. I went with two young teachers who live in Iquitos. The purpose of this trip was to evaluate the start of the Modular Bible School for children from 9 to 12 years old. Also, we had the goal of motivating Bethesda Church, Monte de Los Olivos Church and La Fe Church to participate and support the work we want to do with a group of children between 9 and 12 years old.

Beside of preaching, we plan the beginning of a Biblical School for children for this coming August. The spirit is very good and we trust in God that He will prosper us. (Photo: Children from Requena).

Also, we had an interview with Pastor José Namías, who leads the Evangelical Pentecostal Mission Association El Nuevo Camino. This pastor asked us to teach his leaders and prepare them to do God’s work better. His request was discussed with our Requena collaborators and we have agreed to start teaching them on August (1-5). God willing, we will have an average of 20 students. (Photo: José Amías, pastor in Nuevo Camino Church).

At the end of this update, I let you know that from May 21 to 28 we will travel to Iquitos and Ayzana. I will go with pastor Luis Salas, from the city of Chimbote. We will teach in Iquitos and in Ayzana. In Iquitos we will teach the people of Maranatha Baptist Church. In Ayzana we will teach people from churches of the Lower Amazon. In both churches we will share from the Gospel of Mark the topic: “Serving God and others as Jesus did”.

Also, at the same time that we be in the Lower Amazon, pastors and some brothers from Requena churches will go to Huatapi, on the Ucayali River. There, they will participate in a fellowship of churches. I am happy that brothers are taking courage and mobilizing to help pastors and churches of the villages on the banks of the Ucayali. All this is in accordance with this new stage of our work in the jungle of Peru, which seeks the mobilization of churches to spread the gospel in the villages of the Ucayali and Amazon rivers. Thank you very much for praying for us.
