Brothers and sisters, Greetings and blessing for you and your families. God give me the privilege that preach your word in diferent places. These are my news of January. Thanks for read my news.
Cieneguillo Centro, Sullana. The end of 2015 and the beginning of 2016 found me preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ at IB Dios Viviente (Living God Baptist Church), in Cineguillo Centro, Sullana. The pastors, Natividad Llacsahuache and Sabino Humbo, invited me to preach for the 15th anniversary of the church.
I preached Thursday, December 31, the last day of 2015, and the first 2 days of January 2016. The service on January 1 was a special one. The believers of the church invited other churches to come to the anniversary meetings. I was surprised by the number of believers. They told me that more than 650 believers came from the outlying villages and towns.
I preached the gospel and 3 people made decisions to out their faith in Jesus Christ. There were others who took the challenge to dedicate themselves and walk in obedience to our Lord. At the end of my preaching time, a man came to me to tell me how much God’s Word had helped him. I thank God that His Word is powerful for the edifying of His people!
Bucaramanga, Colombia – Campamento de Jóvenes. I was in Columbia from January 7-12. Pastors Fredy Nieto and Diego Lache of Iglesia Bíblica Bautista de Suba (Bible Baptist Church of Suba) in Bogota invited me. Both pastors and a team of beliebers from the church organized and directed the camp.
The theme for the camp was a great challenge: “You decide”. The program and the teaching times were focused on having a good relationship with God and a sure belief in Him.
The teaching and preaching brought forth fruit. There were 3 professions of faith. There were many teen boys and girls who were reconciled to God and restored in their relationships with Him.
There were, as well, others who dedicated themselves to God to serve Him in in the work of preaching and evangelism. More than 80% of the youth made good spiritual decisions.
During the first message a young lady gave her life to Christ with great conviction. The lady who counseled her was very excited by the way in which Gos was working in this young lady. Glory to God!
During the second message there was a young man who decided to cut his very long hair. There was no message of this type of response at any point. Basically, I explained the challenge God gave to Jeremiah: “they will turn to you but you will not turn to them” (Jeremiah 15). His counselor told me that he said he needed to cut his hair because it was preventing him from growing in his Christian life. The whole camp staff marveled at what God had done in the life of this young man.
Two brief trips to Lima. After those other two trips my plan was to spend time with my family and help in my local church in Trujillo. Although I have been doing these two things, I also had to make two brief trips to Lima.
The first trip (January 21) was not planned. I went to accompany Pastor Elfer Ato. His was was very ill in a hospital in Lima. She died and went to the presence of God several days later. I am content that I was able to go because I helped my friend and fellow Servant with the paperwork for moving his wife’s body to Paita (in the north) the same day she died. I ask you to pray for Pastor Elfer Ato and his son, Enoc. They will both have to adjust to living and serving God without Loida, ho was a great Servant of God. God willing, next week I will travel to Paita to spend 2 or 3 days with my friend.
The second trip (January 27-28) was planned. I went to participate in a pastors’ camp organized by the missionaries of Baptist Mid-Missions. I also went to inform and motivate the other pastors and missionaries with our seminary ministry.
Thanks to God that the time I spent there was a great blessing. I saw several coworkers in God’s work that I had not seen in months and shared the Seminary work with them. I was blessed to hear the Word of God. It edifices my soul and challenged me to serve our God.
To end, I ask you to pray for my family, church, and ministry. This year I have greater goals with my children. They are steadily growing bigger and older. I also have a desire to serve more in my local church. Finally, o want to do better in my ministry, specifically in giving more time and energy to my work of teaching in and the Public Relations for the Baptist Seminary of Peru. I know that I can count on you to pray and this encourages me and gives me strength to go ahead.
