On January I was busy preaching and teaching the Word of God in different places. I taught at Pastors Camp held in Paita (6-9). I went to Luya to preach the gospel to the Conference of Baptist Churches of Amazonas (14-18). I taught Systematic Theology of the Book of Genesis at the Baptist Seminary of Peru (19-23). I preached the gospel on the anniversary of the Maranatha Baptist Church of Paita (24-25). Ended the month being edified and challenged at Aucallama Pastors Camp, Huaral, Lima (28-31). I highlight the determination of a young girl named Julisa Aguirre, who with tears in her eyes made the decision to follow Jesus. She had gone to services with her mother and younger sister. I am happy for this girl. Few days ago I spoke with the Pastor of the church and he told me that she is attending faithfully. Glory be to God! (Foto: Yulisa Aguirre with his mather and his sister).
Also, another important fact is this: I went with Noah, my oldest son to the Pastors Camp at Aucallama. The trip together was good for us. Both were built and strengthened by the Word of God and fellowship with other servants of God and their families.
In February I started preaching at Promise Baptist Church. Pastor Jonathan Dancourt, who was a student of mine when he studied at the Baptist Seminary of Peru, invited me to preach to his congregation. It was my first time in this church, which has three years of existence. Missionaries Gary and Penny Whipple planted this new congregation. By the way, these servants of God are now returning to the US to serve there. May God bless and use them in their country as much as He used them in Peru! This month, my wife ran the ladies camp and I had to take care of the family for a week. Simultaneously with that camp, my son Noah traveled to Lima to attend the teens camp. My wife and I ended the month serving youth in the city of Trujillo.
In March, I feature my trip to Iquitos and Requena (1-7). I Traveled with Pastor David Rodriguez, who is pastor at Bethlehem Baptist Church, El Milagro, Trujillo; and Pastor Mauricio Rivas, who is pastor in Oregon, United States. Pastor David taught Synthesis of the New Testament in Iquitos and Preparing Bible Sermons in Requena. I highlight an important detail in Iquitos and Requena. Students and brothers from churches there collected a love offering for expositors. Also, we have a student in our training center workers having a live radio program on two stations in the area. This is helping a lot in spreading the gospel and having more students from near and far places. Glory be to God!
Another event to highlight in March is the opening of the Baptist Seminary of Peru. Our classes started the 9th of this month. For us it is always a mystery how many students will God bring us to the first year. In the past two years, God has brought on average twenty new students. This year, God brought us twenty-eight new students. We are grateful to God for such a blessing. This year we have a total of sixty-eight students. I request prayers for those who run the Seminary. May God will help us make good our ministry. For my part, I beg you to pray for me so I can be a blessing to the students. This semester I teach three courses: Life of Christ, Doctrinal Synthesis and World Religions.
In concluding this report, I finished the month preaching at Good News Baptist Church of Chiclayo. It was its anniversary and I was asked to preach and teach on missions.
