According to my November update, in January 2015 Medardo Chanchari pastor of Faith Baptist Church Requena, Deacon Manuel Guevara of Requena Bethesda Baptist Church, Pastor Milton Zambrano from Maranatha Baptist Church in Iquitos and deacon Douglas Ferreyra, also from Iquitos and the Maranatha Baptist Church were in Trujillo. They came to study four courses in the Baptist Seminary of Peru. The courses they studied were: Prayer in the Book of Acts, The Poetical Books, Systematic Theology in Genesis and Overcoming Addictions.
Moreover, in Trujillo they visited Bethel Baptist Church and the La Esperanza Baptist Church, which is the church of which I am a missionary. In Lima, they visited Pastor Evelio Villalobos and the church in which he serves as pastor. Visits to these churches helped them see how they are organized to fulfill the Great Commission.
The total investment of the trip was 840 dollars. This includes their tickets Iquitos – Lima – Iquitos, their bus tickets Lima -Trujillo – Lima, their lodging, feeding, its classes and educational materials. Students of Requena and Iquitos sacrificed their working time and their families to study, which shows the great desire to grow in the knowledge of God’s word. They studied in the Seminary by two weeks.
From my perspective, this investment has been well done because the four students of our training centers have been trained, empowered, encouraged and challenged to fulfill their ministries.
